Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys

Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God Romans 13:1

It is only fitting to write about the current election and the status of our nation. When I was young I was told that anybody could become President; I’m beginning to believe it. Politicians are quick to tell you the government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn.  They will also build bridges where there is no river.  I have to remind myself God has a plan and he is in control. No matter the result, I know who my Leader is.

Tonight, after the election is over, we can predict (and guarantee) the following results:
1. God will still be on His throne
2. Jesus will still be King of kings and Lord of lords.
3. The Bible will still have all the answers to every problem.
4. The tomb will still be empty.
5. Jesus will still be the only way to heaven.
6. Prayer will still work – it will still make a difference and God will still answer prayer.
7. The cross, not the government, will still be our salvation.
8. There will still be room at the cross.
9. Jesus will still save anyone who places their faith and trust in Him.
10. God will still be with us always – He will never leave us or forsake us.
Oh Lord, may you guide our nation to uphold your definition of marriage, protect unborn children, support Israel, and live within our means. Amen

  1. Im getting hooked on lthis blog. You are finally using one of the wonderful God given talents you have. You have always been great at writing. Maybe one day you will write a Christian fiction story. Very proud of you. Love Mom
Thanks for not only letting the nonchristians know who is incharge of this crazy world but reminding Christians that God has answered all those prayers prayed before the election. I was bummed out yesterday morning when I awoke to the same presedent, but after praying for a long time the Lord informed me this was his answer and that as Christians we aren’t working hard enough to bring lost souls to him. We have 4 more years to get busy and work for the Lord.
